The InVogue Series stems from the occasion when I bought a 1949 copy of Vogue and its front cover photo along with its 'wear and tear', wrinkles and folds, as well as its fascinating content, captivated my interest in this period of fashion, style and culture.
The paintings are based on copies / front covers of various issues from the period.
Subtle changes to the original compositions and layouts have been made.
I mentally link these paintings to various lines from the books of Dashiell Hammett!
